The report highlightsthe growing popularity of Punjabi content amongst 3.7 million registered users in ShareChat Punjabi with information on trending genres as well as popular trends in fashion, sports and music preferences of the consumers.
The Reign of Romance
The data reveals that content related to romance and relationships are the most popular on ShareChat Punjabi. Over 4 million posts related to love and romance were generated in the last 90 days. This was followed by Humour & fun with 1.5 million and Music& Dance genre with 494,708 posts.
Kabaddi overpowers Cricket
The love for homegrown sport Kabaddi outpaces cricket fever in Punjab by almost 100% . Punjabi users on ShareChat are more inclined to the age-old sport- Kabaddi, whose roots can be traced back to Indian mythology. Content related to kabaddi was shared by 62,270 users, vis-à-vis 25,380shares around cricket.
Men rule the F-list
Fascinatingly, fashion and men’s grooming has spiked by 15% in last 90 days, it has gone to 8,900 UGC from 7,754 wherein #BeardandMoustachestyles, #Hairstyles, #Turban styles remains the most trending tags.
Punjabi music legends rule ShareChat Punjabi
Music legends such as Babbu Maan continued to grow their popularity on ShareChat unlike other leadingpopularPunjabi singers such as Guru Randhawa or Honey Singh, who remain popular in general. There were a total of 1,122,800 post shared on Babbu Maan in a period of 90 days.
