The block-based game designing platform enables children to create their own games, making learning simple and fun

June 24th, 2019: In its persistent attempt to make self-learning a joyful and meaningful experience for children, India’s leading education solutions provider, Next Education India Pvt. Ltd. has launched KODA, based on block-based programming designed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  A coding game for children aged 9 to 13, it is available on LearnNext, its self-learning platform LearnNext. KODA enables the children to design their own games in a fun way, thereby helping them learn how to code and perform various other activities, which will eventually help them become fluent in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

According to the National Science Foundation, 80% of the jobs created in the next decade will see a heavy demand for Math and Science skills. Unfortunately, the exam-focused education model followed by the Indian education sector, limits students’ innovation, problem-solving skills and creativity, despite them having the potential and talent. This is where Next Education steps in, trying to bridge the gap with its revolutionary platform, KODA.

KODA helps the students to learn these skills using game-designing as the medium. The platform incorporates more than 12+ programming concepts and 40+ learning modules that are designed in a fun way to keep the learners engaged. The modules cover programming and STEM concepts. KODA also helps students to perform better in Math and Science by taking up more than 80+ activities, 50+ challenges and quizzes and many other programming tasks. The activities and challenges are designed to not only assess their learning but also aid in reinforcing the application of the concepts.

Talking about the launch of KODA, Mr Beas Dev Ralhan, CEO & Co-founder of Next Education, said “With the world quickly transitioning into a knowledge economy, children must stay equipped with 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, and collaboration, which are crucial to becoming eligible for jobs  in the future. While children start developing an interest in STEM fields at an early age due to their fascination with technology, gadgets and gizmos, not many are able to take the leap from being a user of technology to an innovator when they grow up. And, if at all it happens, it is a very slow transition. KODA has been developed through innovative techniques to inspire the next generation of coders, thus ensuring that they are more inclined towards gaining new experiences.”

As part of the introductory offer, Next Education is rolling out a complete subscription of KODA for just INR 1500.
